Information Management and BIM in the Design & Construction Phase

Delivery: Online via Microsoft Teams

Format: Live instructor‑led training with interactive activities

Audience: Designers, Contractors, BIM Coordinators, Information Managers, Client Representatives, Digital Construction Consultants

Course Overview

This course provides a practical, standards‑aligned introduction to managing information and BIM processes during the design and construction phases. Participants learn how to structure, create, exchange, and validate project information in line with ISO 19650, enabling better coordination, reduced rework, improved quality, and more predictable project outcomes. Through live demonstrations, collaborative exercises, and real project examples, the course equips professionals with the skills needed to deliver reliable, compliant, and well‑managed information throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of information management and BIM during design and construction

  • Apply ISO 19650‑1 and ISO 19650‑2 processes and terminology

  • Define and interpret information requirements (OIR, PIR, EIR)

  • Develop and manage project information models (PIMs)

  • Coordinate design and construction information within a Common Data Environment (CDE)

  • Implement workflows that ensure information quality, consistency, and compliance
