Course Description
This course provides a practical introduction to Matterport for creating accurate, high-quality 3D digital twins facilitating streamlined project management, 3D insights and immersive tours. Learners will gain hands-on experience in planning, capturing, processing, annotating, and sharing Matterport models for use across architecture, engineering, construction, facilities management workflows and property marketing.

Online – includes video tutorials, downloadable resources, practical exercises, and assessment tasks. In person sessions can be arranged.

Module 3 — Capturing a Space

Using the Matterport App

Scanning small and large environments

Managing windows, mirrors, stairs, tight areas, and alignment

Uploading to the Matterport Cloud
Outcome: Capture a complete digital twin and upload it for processing.
Module 4 — Processing & Editing Models

Cloud processing workflow

Applying trims, room labels, highlights, and tags

Editing layouts and models for clarity and navigation

Generating 3D virtual tours

Exporting point clouds, OBJ files, floor plans, and E57 files
